The Mortgage Bonds or the Connecting hallway
Company. between the station of the Pennsylv ania ßailroad Compauyin West Philadelphia and Frank
ford, a distance of seven miles, can be obtained at
tlsis OMee. No. 91313 south THIRD Street.
These bonds are in sums of one thousand dollars,
with interest coupons attached, payable at Bald
office on thelsth day of March and Septemberin each
year, at the rate of six per centum per annum, and
the principal payable in dye equal annual Amcor%
at the rate of W , .0,000 per annum—the first series on
September 15, A. D. 1900. The principal and Interest
are Secured by a mortgage for one million of dollars
ripon all the railway and property of the company
and are guaranteed by the Pennsylvania Railroad
_Company. These bonds are made free of State taxes
.b the Company.
The railway is being Constructed in the most sub-
Anent's' manner, and - will be completdd during the
ensuing year. This road perfects the connection
between the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New
York lines Nis Philadelphia, and becoming, as it
will, the main channel of eanninnleation between
New York and the West, as well as to and from the
National Capital, will always obtain large reve
nues_ and be one of the most important railways of
the 'Union.
'Under a contract with the Philadelphia and Tren
ton Railroad Company, that company lessee the
Toad of the Connecting Railway Company, and
agrees to pay an annual rent for 999 years of slit per
centum upon the cost of the road, clear of taxes.
These bonds are therefore recommended afi a nut
vlase security.
