Two BAD CASES OF PILES CURED BY
DR. STRICKLAND'S PILE REMEDY. Mr. Glass,

as incurable, (he being quite paralyzed with the
Piles.) Both these distressing cases were cured with
one bottle of Dr. Strickland's Pile Remedy. The
recommendation of these gentlemen beside the
daily testimonials recelvpd by Dr. Strickland, ought
to convince those suffering that the most-aggra

PENEVEYRE. — On Monday July 24 1855, Charles
Peneveyre, Esq., in the 70th year of his age•
"Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like
as a shock of corn cement lit his season."
The above words of Holy Writ seen" appropriate
as we contemplatethe deathof Mr. Peneveyre, who
baying arrived at the allotted three-score years and
ten, was gathered to his fathers. Mr. Peneveyre
was a native of Switzerland. and came to this coun
try in the year 7.815,5-ith his father, who was the first
reZtor of the French Episcopal Church, Saint du
Esprit, in the city of liew - York. The father's
heart after a time yearned for his distant home to
which he returned to die. The son loved Ills
adopted home too well to leave, and on arriving at
'nunhood entered into mercantile business in Phila
delphia. and united himself in Merrimack' one, who,
to the time of his death, was all that a faithful wife
could be. As a merchant, Mr. Peneveyre stood
high in the estimation of his compeers. Strict
honesty marked every business trantamtiOn. His
engagements were always met promptly, while up
rightness and truth were component parts of his
nature.
As a husband, he was kind and devoted. Being
childless, he became snore dependent on the wife of
his bosom, and a married life of forty years testified
naught but of overflowing affection.
Ae a citizen and patriot, he was firm' and un-
Yielding, and Met all the duties that were re
gpirell - He visited Europe several dines,
but loved America more than his native home; and,
during the rebellion, subscribed liberally in every
way to aid in its suppression. •
As a philanthropist, he loved his fellow-men, and
delighted in doing them good. He - was one of the
originators and most active members of the Swiss
Benevolent Society, and devised liberally in his
last will to a Blucher of benevolent societies, irre
spective of creed or nation.
As a Christian, he was sincere and unostentatious.
His end was quietness and peace. lie remarked
seine time before his death,." That Its was done
with earth;" and, with no rear of the Ring, oiTer
rors, died without a struggle' and entered that
home prepared above, where there are joys pre
