A very pretty silver vase and flowara have been
•made under the supervision of Messrs. Oassiday &
Ball, on Second street, below Market to the order
of Kev. J, McKean, Je3se Johnson, Hey, li. Wash
l.urne. This vase is intended as a presaofc to Ro
bert and lietitla Thompson as a memorial for their
special humanity to the sufferers >bv tbe areas pe

Charles Clark, the teller of tho Oommerotal
Back, who mysteriously disappeared a Few days

FATAL ACCIDENT.
A boy, named Thomas Draper, aged nice years,
Ml from the top c! a three story house, at 2022 Cal
lowhlll street, yesterday, and was orushed to death.
It Is supposed be went upon the roof, which Is flat,
to wash himself, but no Information conld be ob
tained as to how he fell.
SINGULAR INCIDENT,
The police found a man yesterday on Twenty
fourth street, with his rtsht leg fractured. Ho said
he had bis leg broken In Fatrmonnt Park, butcould
give no furiher loUnonilon on the subioot. He was
removed to too Pennsylvania Hospital, where ha
gave the pa tee 01 K. Bloomer, aged forty years, and
residence Ir. Lambert’s court.
AN UNFORTUNATE JUMP,
Hrnry Zellman, aged 23, had,his right thigh frac
tured yesterday, while jumping at Smith’s Island,
He was taken to the Pennsylvania Hospital.
A VICIOUS HORSE i
Henry Weltham, aged 48, haa £ finger bitten off
yesterday, by a horse which he was in the act of un
hitching. The same horso bit off one joint of the
finger on a previous ocoosion.
CASUALTIES.
Alexander Bussell, aged IS, had an arm broken,
and hlB head injurrd oh Saturday, by falling Into a
cellar at Eighth and Chestnut streets.
Thomas Mayhem, aged 9 years, was ran ovar by
a milk was on on Saturday afternoon, and had his
back li.jortd. They were both token to the Penn
sylvania Hospital-

A Company has been formed under the Mining bawl
of Pennsylvania* of -the above name, for the par
pose of supplying Coal to its members at prime cost,
and yon axe hereby solicited to become a participant in
its benefits.
The stock of the Company has been divided into 26,-
000 shares, at $lO per share, making a capital of $250,-
000. of which $50,000 Is set apart for working capital.
It is the intention of this Company <o furnish each of
its stockholders with onegros* ton (2,240 pounds) of coal
annually, for each share of stock held by them during
the existence of this Company (which has been char
tered for sixteen years) at cost, if the stockholder de
sires to receive it.

known colliery of “Branch dale,” situated about seven
miles ffom Pottsville. on a branch of the MlnehUi and
Sehuylklll Haven Railroad. The coal is of the belt
quality of the region, H being the celebrated Spohn vein.
The mine will now yield 40,000 tons of coal per year,
and can readily be made to double Its present uroduo
tian at a very small cost. The supply may be said io be
Inexhaustible, for, so far as the existence of this Com
piny is concerned, it certainly is so.
The mine is in complete working order, with all the
machinery and personal pioperty necessary and usual to
work a first-class colliery.
The stock of this Company is not an Inflated one, it
being based upon a fair equivalent in property.
The investment will be a good one, as the Company
expect to realize eufficientproflt from the sale of the sur
plus of all coal mined over 36,000 tons, to pay a good
semi-annual dividend.
