*» MARSHALL OIL C 0.,”
N. W. Corner Fifth and Chestnut,
_ Room No, 3.
TO THS STOCKHOLDERS:
The Director* would respectfully inform the Stock
holders of ’’The Hoover and Marshall Oil Company”
that the affairs of the Company are in a good and sound
condition, and that the developmrnt& on their property
are being vigorously prosecuted. That they could have
declared a dividend some time ago from the products of
their well, now yielding, but instead of doing so have
applied the proceeds thereof to the boring of the new
well on the * * Hoover” tract.
They have also leased a portion of the fifty-acre tract,
and have had several applications for more> leases for
half the oil. The wells on this tract are to he sunk im
mediately.
Several large stakes having recently been made in
the immediate vicinity of the fifty* acre tract, they feel
the greatest confidence in expeetingthe moat satisfactory
results. The well now being bared by the Company,
on the Hoovertr&ct, they feel assured will yield not less
than sixty barrels of oil per day. The books of the Com
pany, with letters almost daily received from the Su
perintendent, are open for inspection at the office of the
Company.

COAL AT COST!
R2S3*
HOUSEKEEPERS’ COAL COMPANY,
OFFICE, 105 BOOTH FIFTH STREET, BELOW
CHESTNtJI*.
A Company lae been formed under tie Minion Law«
of Peottsyl.anla, of tlo shore name, for tha pur
pose of tnppljinr Coal to its members at prime coat,
and ron are lore or solicited to become a participant In
its benefits. .
The stock of the Company has been divided into 35,-
000 shares, at $lO per share, making a capttal of 1250,*
COO, of which $60.0C0 is set apart for working capital.
It is the intention of this Company to furnish each of
its stockholders with one gross ton (2,240 pounds) of coal
annually, for each share of stock held by them during
the existence of this Company (which has been char
tered for 'sixteen years) at cost, if the stockholder de
sires to receive It.
Last winter a ton of coal of only 2000 pounds costal
your door *12.£0, while the mining and transporting of
a ton of 2 240 pounds, cost only $7.60: thus making the
enormous profit of five dollars on a single ton of coal,
besides the-difference in weight. Why pay the differ*
ence, when by becomings member of the Housekeep
ers* Coal Company you will become directly connected
with the mining and delivery of yonr own Goal, there
by securing it pood, clean , cheap, and of full weight ?
All these benefits are secured to yon at once if yon
join ibis Company. The characer of the lentiemea
having this enterprise in charge is sufficient guarantee
that the objects of the Association will bs fully verified.
The Company have prooured the lease of the well
known colliery of • ‘Branchdale, 1 ’situated about seven
miles from Poitaville.* on abranehof the Mineklli and
Schuylkill Haven Railroad. The eoalisof the best
duality of the region it being the celebrated Spohn vein,'
The mine will now yield 40,000 tons of coal pe.r year,
and ean readily be made to double its present produc
tian at a very small cost. The supply may be said to be
inexhaustible, for, so far as the existence of this Com
pany is concerned, it certainly is so. ...
The mine is ‘n complete working order, with ail the
machinery andpertonal property necessary and usual to
work a first-class colliery.
The stock of this Company is not an inflated one, it
being based upon a fairequivalent in property.
The investment will be a good one, as the Company
expect to realize sufficientpiofit from the sale of the sur
plus of all coal mined over 26,000 tons, to pay a good
semi-annual dividend.
Information concerning the affairs of the Company
ean be obtained at the office.
