BIPOBT. _
The world has lost a pure, exalted patriot, the South
Its truest friend, humanity a sterling advocate, and the
nation has been suddenly shrouded in the pall of sorrow
and ilcom by the violent death of his Excellency
aBBaBaM LIICOLB, the Sixteenth President of the
United States, who was ruthlessly slain on the night of
the 14th instant, by a sm.aking, cowardly assassin, in
Washington, D. Cm the capital of the country. The
loss, indeed* is s most mournful one The national
heart, which so recently heat with rapture in the
blight hope of returning peace, which pulsated with
general gladness at the near prospective cessation
of hostilities, is stricken down In the deep
shadow of the most shocking crime that ever dark
ened the history of civilization. The blood of all
the martyrs in the contest for the cause of our country
still calls from the ground for liberty and Union, hut
the blood of that great and good man, Abraham Lin*
coin, calls in iiumpet tongues for inexorable Justice,
without leniency, t>all the leaders of the foul, hell
born rebellion, who have outraged humanity, stimu
lated wide* spread assassination, and who have become
outlaws in the world. It Is with feelings of the most
profound regret that we have heard of the death of the
well'helovea President of the United States; therefore,
Resolved , That we drape the Cooper* shop Volunteer
Befteshmen t Saloon is the emblem* of mourning for the
spgce of six months in respect to the memory of the il
lustrious dead. "

A Companr has been formed under lie Mining li»i
of Pennsylvania, of .’the above nams, for the pm
pose of supplying Coal to its members at prime cost,
and you are hereby solicited to become a participant in
its benefits. v'
The stock of the Company has been, divided into 25,-
000 shares, at $lO per share, making a capital of $250.-
000, of -which $50,000 is set apart for working capital.
It is the intention, of this Company to famish ?“*“«
its stockholders with one grog* ton (2,240 pounds) of coal
annually, lor each share of stock held hy them during
the existence of this Company /which has been char
tered for sixteen years) at cost, if the stockholder de
sires to receive it. * „
Last winter a ton of coal of only 2000 pounds cost at
your door $l2-CO, while the mining and trausportiagof
a ton of 2 240 pounds, cost only $7.60: thus unking the
enormous profit of five dollars on a single ton of coal,
besides the difference in weight Why piy the differ*
enee. when by becoming a member, of the Housskeep«_
ers T Coal Company yon will become directly connected'
with the mining delivery of your own Goal, there
by securing it good* clean , cheap* and of full weight ?
All these benefits are secured to you at once if you
join this Company. The charac’er of the lentiemen
having this enterprise in charge is sufficient guarantee
that the objects of the Association will be fully verified.
The Company have prooured the lease of the well
known colliery of “BrancMale,” situated about coven
miles from FoUsville. on a branch of the Minehill and
Schuylkill Haven Railroad. The coal is of the bast
'quality of tfaevegion itbelnc the;celebrated Spohnvein.
The mine will now yield 40,000 tons of coal per year,
and can readily be made to double its present produce
tian at m very small cost. The supply may be said I© be
inexhaustible, for, so far as the existence of this Com
pany hi concerned, it certainly is so.
The mine is fn complete working order, with all the
- machinery and personal property necessary and usual to
work a first-class colliery.
The s.tock of this Company, is hot an inflated one* it
being based upon a fair equivalent in property.
The investment will be a good, one, as the Company
expect io realize sufllcient profit from the sale ofehe sur
plue of all coal mined over 25.000 tons, to pay a good
semi-annual dividend.
