COLONEL: A detachment of twenty-odd men from
Philadetphia. just arrived in Washington, is being sent
to the rendezvous at Caron Stoneman today. The Ma
jor General commanding desires you to have them as
signed to one and the alone company. He believes that
inannusk as these Men are to be detached for some
time, end a large number of others are coon expected to
come from Philadelphia, that (as the let Regiment is
nearly completed) it would be batter to have these men
astigned to the Bret company of the 2d Regiment.- The
General desires these men to be armed and equipped as
soon as possible. In order that they nley be sent ea a de
tachment to Philadelphia, to report to Benjamin Frank
lin, Esq. , thief of the detractive police of that city, for
reerni.ing purposes. Among the number are two or
three men who were formerly nos-commissioned °M
acre, and they might be annotated to similar positions
in the company to which they will be assigned. Yon
will advise these headquarters as Boon as Gasmen are
properly equipped.
In the course of at - few days Mr. Franklin will enlist
drummers and lifers for the company. As coon as they
are enlisted they will be lent to Camp Stoneman, to be
uniformed end equipped. with drums, fifes, aro.
