The Company can obtain a large revenue by parties

dependent of the revenue from their own Wells, there
being a large sufficiency of land for both purposes. -
It is designed to rgive the contract to drill several

the Bounty Fund have evidence that a large and in
creasing number of the volunteers receiving bounty
from the city desert with impunity before. leaving the
city, and, that there is an organized system for the pur
pose, notce is 'hereby given that the Commiseion, with
the concurrence of the Mayor, will entertain no claim,
end will advise fhb payment of no bounty to volunteers
enlisting after this date until the adoption of proper safe
guards shall insure that those who enlist to the credit
of Philadelphia shall add to the effective strength of the
atm,.
For the present, the payment of bounty will be con
tinued to recruits for the Regular Army and Naval ser
vice, properly credited to the city of Philadelphia. -
