in lot No. 21, on Hyde and Robert Farm, containing
about one acre on which is situated the Jersey Well,
now flowing about (350 bbls. ) three hundred and
,Aftlf
barrels I,er day.- This interewt is situated on the cele
-brated Hyde and Egbert Farm. which has proved it
self to be one of the great oil' basins, a large, flowing
well, of some I.2oobarrels, having been struck within
a few days.
2d. The one-sixty-fourth (1-64) working interest in
lots 7 and 9, on hyde and Egbert Farm, known as the
Keystone Leases, on which there are two producing
wells known. as Keystone Wells 1 and 3, and another
well in process of boring, and from the well-known
character of the property, we have every reason to ex
pect a second Jersey Well. This interest is also situa
ted on the above celebrated farm, and a well is now
tested on these lots with "every indication of being
a very large well. In fact, when the above-menttoned
well was struck it was the general impression that it
was the usw Keystone Well No. 4. •
9.d. The one-half working interest, being one-fourth
of all the oil produced from Railroad Well, on Miller
Farm, on Oil creek, now producing about twenty bar
rels per day. The oil from thin well commands a higher
price than any other oil on the .creek, on account of its
superiority for refining purposes. This Company have
ordered one of the new patent air pumps, and it is con
fider tly expected that when it is in operation it will
bring the yield np to tome one hundred barrels per day.
4th. One-twentieth working interest in "Breed Town
Lease," on the celebrated Story Farm. containing 3.K
scree. The working interest have bought a new patent
blower for a well on this lease that did produce large
quantities of oil; and as there is also a new well going
down on this lease, the yield to the Company will be
largely increased.
6tb. Fifty acres in fee simple on Cherry run, about
• one and a half miles above the celebrated ' Reed
Welk" nearly one-half of which is bottopa land. On
adjoining lands above and below there are a number of
derricks going up, and wells in process of boring. The
character of Cherry run property has been Pally tested.
Every well sunk has produced more or less oil The
Reed Wall is doing some 900 barrels, Antrim Well 150
barrels, and Prince Well over 100 barrels, and a number
outlio to ICO barrels per day.
The books of the Company are still open for a limited
number of subscriptions at their office, 524 WALNUT

The present yield of oil to this company from the
above various interests is (60) sixty barrels per day.

To tell the story4f Scott's Life is to descr nearly
all that is gioriode in our past militarr history.
It wbnld be difficult to conceive of a more interesting
or instructive record.
NOTICES OF THE. PRESS WREN THE BOOK WAS
FIRST ANNOUNCED:
(Few York Nyoning, Poet ) • •
Those have, for some time back, been intimations that
General Scott has been occapied for the past two years,
or since he retired from active military life in prepar
ing " Memoirs of his own Life and Times. Few men
have, while fivitig, attained so wide a popularity, and
bten so firmly enshrined in the hearts of all their coun
trymen, without distinction of party, as General Scott.
It is difficult to feel that one whom we see among US
-0-day, and whom we have been. went to consider ene
of our contemporaries: Was really living, and a most
prominent actor in the early days of the Rqpnblic.
Scott's position as the' hero of the War of Mt threw
him into intimate - relations with our Revolutionary
Fathere ; and now, in, our days of adversity, like a
voice from the tombs comes to us, transmitted through
this great hero, the- admonitions and example of those
who laid the foundations of this great Republic, and
cemented them with their blood.
We are assured .by those who have read the proof
sheets of this book, that it ix tilled with interesting me
mories of the past, and written to a ,most piquant and
attractive style. It contains one hundred and fifty Pea
andinix sketches Of characters, embracing nearly all
our prominent men from the Revolution down. •
It is difficult to conceive of a more intersting book. •

To tell the story of Ueneral . Scott's life, is to describe
Dearly all that-is,glorions in uur past military history:
From the commencement of the war of 1812 to the bp
ginning .of the sireisent rebellion, his name and fsme
have been so cloiely in' er woven with the conduct of
military affairs, s , to claim the attention of every eta
dent of the natiorl e annals.
It would be &Melt to conceive a more interesting or
instructive record.... The long and honorable career of a
veteran so conspicuous. portrayed-bylhis own-hand,
wearied - and resting after labors which have done so
much toward making the Union a price worth the travail
and bloodshed which its perpetuation'is costing us to
day, must be regarded with new and absorbing interest
by Americans. Among the autobiographies left by men
whose lives have had a national and even world-wide
influence, few, will have eclipsed the ens now forth
coming in varied,*and exciting, and brilliant incident.
[hem The Press, Philadelphia:3 " •
Winfield Scott does well to Place Me autobiography
before the world. All his life, he has emphatically been
a so!dier. It has pleased God to make him a successful
one, and his own good conduct has preysited any blot
upon his escutcheon. He is the American Bayard, ' sacs
peur at sans reproche.! The life of-such a soldier must
coney a great moral lesson to his countrymen.
