SKIRTS.
Thiis Invention consists of Duplex (or tiro) Elliptic
Steal Springs, ingeniously braided tightly and firmly
together, edge to edge, making the toughest, most elas
tic, flexible, and durable spring ever used, enabling tie
wearer, inconsequence of its great elasticity and flexi
bility, to place and fold the skirt when in use as easily
and with the same convenience as a silk or muslin
dress. It entirely obviates and silences the only objec
tion to hoop-skirts, viz: the annoyance to tho wearer
as well as the pnblic, especially in era wdad assemblies,
carriages; railroad cars, church pews, or In any crowded.
S' ace, from the difficulty of contracting them toocoupy
a a small space. This entiselyj-emoveathe difficulty,
while giving; the skirt the usual full and symmetrical
form,' and is the lightest and most stylish and graceful
appearance for the street, opera, promenade, or house
drees. A lady having enjoyed the pleasure, comfort,
and great convenience of wearing the Duplex Elliptic
Spring Skirt for a single day, will never afterward
willingly dispense with the use of them. They, arc the
best quality in every part, and by far the lightest, most
durable, comfortable, and economical skirt made. Mer

Du. Suedo—Dear Sir:- For the. benefit of suffering
humanity, I would-give; a statement of my condition
when I came under your care and. treatment. From the
result of an injury my left side .was totally paralyzed,
and had been for six months previous to calling on
you, during which time I suffered intense pain, could
get no reßtonly by the influence of opiates. Had been
treated by several physicians without benefit. When
ready to give up all hope of ever regaining the use of
my limbs,. X was advised by Thomas Brown of our place
to put myself under your. care. I did so, and the result
