By direction of the Secretary of the Treasury,! hereby
live notice that I am prepared toreeoive Subscriptions on
account of United States Bonds authorized by the Act of
March 3d, 1861, bearing date March Ist, 1664, redeemable
at the pleasure of the Government after ten years, and
payable forty years from date, bearing interest at five
per centum a year, payable on Bonds not over one hun
dred dollars Annually, and on all other Bonds, semi
annually in Coin.
Subscribers will receive either Reziifered or Coupon
Bondi, as they may prefer.
Registered Bonds will be Issued of the denominations
Fifty dollars ($5O), One hundred dollars (4(100), Five
hundred dollars ($600), One thousand dollars (61.000).
Five thousand dollars ($6,000). and Ten thousand dol
lars ($10,000); and Gonpon Bonds of the denominations
of Fifty dollars ($5O), One hundred dollars ($100),
Fire hundred dollars ($500), and One thousand dol
lars ($1,000)
Fnbicriters will be required to pay, in addition to the
amount of the principal of the Bonds in lawful money,
the accrued Interest in Coin* (or in United States Notes,,
or the Notes of National Banks, adding fifty per cent,
for premium until further notice,) from the first day of
March c r September, as the case may be, until the day
of subscription and payment.
Upon tbe receipt of Subscriptions I willfissue my Certi
ficates of Deposit therefor, in duplicate, the original of
which will be forwarded by the subscriber to the Secre
tary of the Treasury, Washington, with a letter stating
the bind (Registered or Coupon), and the denominations
of Bonds issued.
Upon the receipt of the Original Certificates at the
Treapury Department, the Bonds subscribed for will be
transmitted to the subscribers respectively, as soon as
the same can be prepared.
It is expected that the first deljyeries of Coupon Bond*
