JAYNE'S'ALTERAVVE
'STILL MAINTAINS ITS SIIRERIORITT.
The unparalleled success which for twenty-five years,
has attended the use of JAYNE'S ALTERATIVE; ena
bles the Proprietors to recommend it to the afflicted with
entire confidence, believing that it will effectually era.
a dicate from the hiuman system the dleeases for whose
cure it 'is 'designed, more promptly and thoroughly than
any other remedy of its class. - It has been found parti
cularly benefiical in
CANCER AND CANCERODS AFFECTIONS of all
kinds, curing a majority - of the cases in which it has
been. used, and dftiine.s after the failtuu of other reme
dies.
GOITRE OR SWELLED NEM. --Xn innumerable
cases..of ads disease in which Jayne's Alterative has
been perseveringly used, it has never been known to
fail, All have been cared who have continued its use
according to directions
DROPSY AND DROPSICAL SWELLINGS.—Many
physicians who have used the Alterative in diseases of
this nature, consider it a .specific, so great has been its
success. It acts by increasing the powers of digestion,
exciting the absorbents into healthy exercise, whereby
the watery or calcareous depositions and all unnatural
enlargements are reduced. '•
EPILEPSY, PIPS, cortruLsio as, are usually Con
sidered incurable; and yet experierMe has proved that
tbe Alterative in conjunction with-the Sanative Pills,
will cure a majority of cases; it should be tried, there
fore, by all who are subject to these terribleafflietions.
SCROFULA.-In all the forms of this disease, whether
in that of Ulcerations of the Flesh or Bones, Enlarge
ment of the Joints, Glands, Swellings, Eruptions, Tu
mors, Sm. , the Alterative has been found pre-eminently
successful. It enters into and circulates with the blood,
thus destroying the virus or poisonous principle from'
which these diseases originate.
' SKIN DISEASES, of all kinds, Scald Head, Totter,
Fall Rheum, Ring -Worm,--Boils, Pimples, Blotches,
Roughness of the Skin, ace., are readily cured by the
Alterative. '- .
~RHEUMATISM AND NEURALGIA.-,ln chronic cases
this Alterative, •if perseveringly used.'is
• generally suc
cessful. In Acute Rheninatiatn. Jayne's _Liniment
should be applied in connection, according to directions.-
:FEMALE COMPLAINTS.—In many affections peculiar
to females, especially when arriving at maturity, or at
the "change of life," the. Alterative is unsurpassed by
any other remedy. In Cholorosis or Retention, Irregu
larity and Lencorrhoca, the best results have always
followed its administration.
COMPLICATED. AND 'MIXED DISEASES, NER
VOUS AFFECTIONS, - DISEASES - 'OF THE HEART,
DYSPEPSIA, LIVER COMPLAINT, Constitutional Die;
eases and diseases originating from a depraved or im-
Perfect state of the Blood, are all cured by Jayee'CAl-
terative ; and while it is a faultin many medicines;:that
when they are removing the disease they are also pros
trating the patientbeyond recouery, the Alterative has
no such drawback. Whlle neutralizing the virus of
disease at its very eouice, it sustains the strength of the
sufferer; the Union -of Disinfectant, Tonic and Deoh
th vent properties in this medicine, and the fact that all
hose influencesure blended harmoniously in its opera-
Lion, distinguishing it from all other similar prepara
ions. Let the afflicted give it a trial. Prepared only

'i She is gone! In the'early bloom of life she has been
cut off from kind parents, affectionate brothers and sis

~Virtnee, she has left a blank that can never be tilled. She
;is missed everywhere, at-home and abroad. That kind.
sympathizing_voice is hushed in death forever. - Her
accustomed , place. is vacant ; we wait in vain for- her

is now numbered with that bright and:heavenly host

what. a consolation to- the bereaved -parents, knowing
that in their sudden and irreparable loss it has been her
eternal gain. Yet sad to gaze on her face for the last
time; to give the last farewell -kiss ;• to see the cold, in
senaible clod thrown in; and then to leave - her forever,
until we too shall be summoned to

where sorrow is never known. ow the tears flow,
while over the grave the minister of God delivers the
~parting words', .and "dust is given unto dust! The
home is the house of mournin”-.She is missed-every
where, but yonder she lies buriedin the grave. Is it not
sorrowful to part with a sister? Ask those who weep—

clothed in beauty,'as she rises from her temporary tomb,
.how tarred the duty Ito visit a sister's grave; to plant
- sweet Bowers, and twine them around .that hallowed
'spot; to sit and weep o'er a deported sister!
. I love to stay where my sister sleeps,
And gaze on each star'as it twinkling peeps
Through that bending willow that lonely weeps
O'er my sister's grave.
How consecrated is the place le affection's eyes! HOW
we gaze on the white tombstone, and read those words
en graven upon it; fur beneath it lies her whom we love,
end memory fondly revives her laid words But, weep

FOR FAMILIES,
The water and air at this point possess superior attrac
tions. The analyses made in the laboratory of Professors
Booth, Garrett, and Cameo, of Phila lelphia, show the
existence of valuable mineral elements, the waters of
some of the springs being of the iron or chalybeateclass,
and others containing saline or aperient salts. Pare
mountain water abounds ;.and the guests will --also be
supplied with mineral waters from other springs. such as
blue Lick, Bedford, and Saratoga Waters.
Ample facilities for bathing have been provided, new
plunge and donch baths erected, and Hot and Cold Baths
can at all times be obtained.

The grounds, walks, &c., have been highly improved,
and are of a varied and 'picturesque character.
