selves, tinder the name of the PENN RELIEF ASSO
CIATION FOR SICK AND WOUNDED SOLDIERS, and
are devoting one afternoon and evening of each week, at
the Spring Garden Institute, corner of BROAD and'
SPRING GARDEN Streets, in making up such articles
as are most needed by our sick soldiers.
• Committees of these ladies visit every hospital in the
city to ascertain the "necessities of the inmates, and, as
far as possible; to supply them. They are also torward
ing to distant points such supplies as are most wanted,
where responsible parties are to be found who will re
ceive such, and make a proper distribution of them.
To do these things large means are required, and this
appeal is made to the benevolent to assist them by dona
tions of money or goods.
