i u On Saturday evening last, several men indulging in
lake bathing had a lesson taught them which they wilt
not soon forget. A number of horses came to the lake
shore to drink, when they were caught by the bathers
and mounted. AU'went very merry until they became
frightened, when one of them, not waiting for his rider
to dismount, tore up through the city at a furious gaUop,
so that tbio£B were perplexing, for the resi ie its were unite
shocked with a horn and rider in' such undress uniform
dashing through the streets.” •
Moral —Never mount a horse unless you are clothed,,
as it will add to yonr comfort; and let the clothing, if
possible, be from Charles StokeaY undergo Continental.;
It will add to your looks. ' f v
The Sheikh Audallati once sent to his
neighbor, Hasaan AlU’d Been, to borrow a rops. “ He
cannot have it,” replied Hassan; “ I have token ths
rope to tie np a measure of sand.” “ WbaU tie up
sand with a ropeT l replied Abdalah. “Obi frieni,”
retorted Hassah, “it i* easy tofinda reason for using, a
rope when one doei not wish to lend it.” And for the
same reason we would advise all our readers to parchase
their summer garments a’ the Mammoth Clothing Em

by bo doing obtain clothing of the latest styles, at 25 psr
