last. In addition to a large number of paients there
•were also'present many of the officers of the institution
aud Invited friends, all of whom seemed to participate
fully in IheeDioyments of the occasion. Were the names,
of the exhibitors and delineators mentioned, the an*
nom;c me nt would be a; sufficient guarantee o* the artistic
♦axcelhmco of the exhibition. The spirit-stirring strains
cf Hr. David Worden, who lang several national and.
other air?, were evidently justly appreciated and ad
mired. We cannot but believe that ©very visitor mtut
have bern highly gratified to observe'the general good
order which was maintained by the patients, who, by
that und other manifestations, displayed their interest
and gratitude. The Superintendent of the department,
with the gentlemen who exhibited their flue transcripts
of landscape seeoery, statuary, portraits, and other
views,.must feel amply.repaid for their efforts on Friday
evening by the benefits which obviously resulted to the
inmates cf the hospital from such an entertainment . Oc
