There was an unusual lack of interest in the money
circles today, The mane' Maoris of disasters to the
Federal cause in Virginia has created a suspense and a
doubt in spite of the firm belief existing that our atom
can be nothing else than victorious. But little is hoard
'of McClellan, around whom the principal attraction non'
Mes s and the stories that are told of the reinforcements
sent to the rebel army, are having a great effect here. It
would be well, if our forces are being increased in tthat
direction, that our people know it. It could give no pois
'Bible aid to the rebels, and would silence the beating of
'many financial hearts, and tend to give a general foaling
of mounty to our people and their purses.
A very moderate business was done on the street; the
guincipal feature beisg large ealee of gold, the premium
'rising to six per cent., end closing with an upward ten
dency. Premium demand note. were slowly called for,
but prices were a little better than yesterday's.
At the Stock Board a slight improvement was notice
able, but there wee a general desire to hold off awhile.
Passenger railways awe_quite freely offered, and we
;have to note an advancement in most of them. Girard
College was firm at yesterday's price 23; the same may
tire said of Cheetnet and Walnut, which, at the second
board, advanced X ; Second and Third rose to 75, an
advance of 3; Green and Coates brought 33, an advance
•of 1; Spruce and Pine advanced 3r ; Arch-street was
. steady at 25; Thirteenth and Fifteenth brought 19X, a
decline of lef on lest sale); 56 was bid for West Phila
delphia; 43 for Frenkforti and Southwark ; Seventeenth
and Nineteenth had sales at 8.

A comparison of the footings of the weekly bank state
ment of the Boston banks, with those of last week, ex
hibits an increase of 8533,143 in the Berne of loans and
discounts, $179,198 in circulation, and a decrease of
$674,973 in deposits, end $88,526 in specie. We annex

Business at the bank was active, and the demand for
money largo ; but they were fully able to accommodate
customers. At some at our leading houses it is curious
to see, when three o'clock approaches, tae crowds wait
.ing their turn to, get their welf-thied bank nooks into the

New York exchange continued abundant. Most of
the larger banks take it from customers at par, and sell
at X. premium to customers; but X quarter is charged
by many hams on small drafts, had this is the rate on
collection. -
The market for- sold was decidedly feverish. The

At a meeting of the Board of Managers of this Compa
ny, held on the let of Nay, 3.862, the following resolutions
were adopted:
Resolved, That coupon bonds of this Company, bear
ing date the first day of July , next, be issued to the
amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars, in
sums of One Thousand Dollars .each, payable 'in twen
ty-five years after the date thateof, bearing interest
at the rate -of six per content per annum, pays
hie semi-annually, in the city of Now York, and the said
bonds be secured by mortgage of the works and revenues
of this Company, to be made to Thomas Dakota% as
trustee, for the holders of said bonds. ,
Resolved, That the President of this Company be au
thorized to procure, to be negotiated, of the mortgage
bonds of this Company, this day ordered to be issued, the
anionnt of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dot
tars, for cash, or the outstanding bonds of this Com
pany, maturing on the first day of January next, at
In accordance with the foregoing resolutions, SUB
SCRIPTIONS will be received until three o'clock of the
24th CAT OF JUNE NEXT, for the above loan. In
formation with regard to the character of the Improve
ment may be obtained from Joshua Hanna, Bee, of Han
na, Bart, A, Co - , Pittsburg ; Abraham Gibbons, Ex.,
Coatesville, Chester county, Pa.; and Messrs. Jay,
Cook, A Co., Philadelphia, who are authorized to receive
enbscriptions for the loan.
The Capital Stock of the Company is $726,700
Funded debt, (bondsontatandidg) 182,000
There is no floating or other debt existing. The works
are in active operation and complete repair, and the re
ceipts justify expectations of the usual of average divi
dend for the present year.`, The works were so far &an
pleted, and the debts et the Company paid as to enable
the Managers to declare their first dividend, July 7th,
1803, since which time they have declared fourteen divi
dends up to July, 11561=eight years—amounting in the
aggregate to fifty-four and one-half per cent., or six and
eighty-one Mindredths per cent. Per annum: There are
no bonds in the market better secured than those of this
Company, and note : that offer greater inducpments for
Investment as to security and prompt payment of into
rest, which is well known by the holders of the present
outstanding bonds. The object of this mortgage is to
concentrate the bonds of the Company and moire the
whole. A preference will be given to the present holders
of the bonds maturing January let, MI The Company
reserves the right to accept the whole or any portion of

accepted by the War Department for three years or

This is the only three-year Regiment authorized by
the Secretary of War from this State, and all patriots
desirous of serving our common country most now come
forward. The Regiment will positively march on or be

of the whole or any part of $500,000 First Mortgage Eler.
per Cent. Coupon Bonds.
The Mortgage is made to Alexander Henry, Bet.,
Trustee, and will be due July 1, 1832. It is secured upon
the entire Reilread and Property of the Company lying
On the west aide of Eehttylkill, between Belmont and
Gray's Ferry. Its terms provide for a sinking fund of
$15,000 per tear, to be Invested in these Bon's, or In the
First Mortgage Bonds of the Pennsylvania Railroad
Company, the Philadelphia and Beading Railroad Com
pany, the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Rail
road Company, in the Loans of the United Statee, or of
the State of Pennsylvania, at the discretion of the Board
