The Tax Bill.— The consideration of tho tax MU now before Congress is deaaonstrailng the fact that everybody is patriotical’y willing that a hoavy tvx should be levied upon everybody but himself; while tbe eaid everybody insists that, in his special case, taxation would be oppressively burdensome. That ia not the way to help the Government to carry on the war and crush out the rebellion. Tims we see how unwise has been the adoption of the gay and faucifui uniforms by some of our regi ments at the commencunenl of tho war. Of course, it is only necessary to consult these statistics in reference to our dross as soldiers; but, as civilians, we are only influ enced by taste.
