    Foreign Grain.
Thi following translation of the Royal Decree of
Portugal, legalizing the importation of certain
foreign cereals for a limited time, in conformity
With the recent authority of the Cortes, has been
COmmuuicatod to the Department of State by the
minister resident of the United States at Lisbon,
and is published as being of interest to the agri
cultural and commercial classes of this country :

In accordance with the authorization conceded to
the Qovevmueut by the law of the 11th of the cur
rent mouth, and having heard, in conformity with
article 2d of said law, the Civic Governors of the
Kingdom, the respective Councils of Districts, nnd
the General Council of Commerce, Industry, and
Kgrioullure, I am hereby pleased to decree the
following:
Art. Ist. The importation of foreign cereals,
Itheai, rye, barley, and oats, in grain or baked
J>read, is allowed through the inland or maritime
ports of the continent of the Kingdom until the end
«f the mouth of April next.
§ Sofu* ; The cereals thus admitted are only to
pay the same ditties as national grain, when de
spatched for consumption.
Art. 2d. After the term specified in this decree,
Jsueli cereal#* ns are therein specified will still be
admitted, if it be proved before Government and
the respective fiscal committee that the same
cereals left the ports of their shipment for tlioso of
this Kingdom in sufficient time to have arrived

voyage.

toad Company brought flown from Mauch Chunk fur the
fveefc ending on Saturday, 23d instant, 16,833 tons of

1860, 727,221 tons of coal, against 718,251 tons to corre
