We paid a visit to their camp on Saturday. The

We actually think a man most get on a uniform

et vanity, but it is a fact in military philosophy
that nothing storms a woman's heart as quickly as
s gay ntlik.llll_
fir* are many nationalities in this command
of Col. Einstein's, but the majority are from the
Rhine. These strange, uncouth, fair-beaded, beer
.lriaking Tautens, make splendid soldiers. Most
of them bays been under dre before—some in
Mexico, and sonic behind the barricades in '4B,
when European Republicanism drew the sword on
tyranny. They look very stupid, malty of them,
and would in all probability shoot you first on a
dirk night and ask you for the countersign after*
wards. But never take a soldier by appearances.
Them quiet, can, sluggish follower are terrible in
ear times. They breathe intelligence in powder
emote, and know how to die like brave men. We
Barer knew a good soldier who wee a vain man,
for modesty and courage are twin virtues.
We pass through the narrow avenues of the
estop. Crowds of bustling, buxom German women
loiter around each tent; some weeping, some
sighing sadly, and some laughing loudly, as if to
hive Borrow away. We sae woman's thoughtful
nem everywhere. Innumerable little bundles of
shapes and taus are pressed on grateful sol.
Biers; and many a sweet remembranoe it called
forth, and many loving words and hurried vows
are hastily spoken.
In the 'seats* of the camp is Company F, the
celebrated Harrison Guards. Here we are among
-411101i0iIIII, and it Is easily to be seen that they are
the favorites_ of the regiment. A canal flag Banta
Is front of the captain's tent, and a very rough
bard tells us In small white . letters that it is
-Spearing avenue." This company of Harrison
Garde was organised by the Harrison Literary
hatitnte, and ware taken by Colonel Einetein to
hit toter company. All of the origins) Harrison
bop, however, have been made commissioned and
non-commissioned °Meant Lieutenant Voglebtudb,
a Ccessmscy D., Limatenaat Monnitiger, of Com
pany E, were taken lint of it to command now
companies of recruits. The Harrison's president,
Kr. Carton, carries a sword, as a lieutenant of the
Harrison Gacurds, while Berseanis Rev and Wood
burn, and Corporals Ker and Whittington serve
their canntry in its ranks. They are all brave
end intelligent men, and all abandon pleasant
tomes and preamble ezerupatione to verve the Ita
public. Captain Spearing, its commander, and
Lieutenant Harrington, his first assistant, are both
gentlemen of extensive military experience and
undoubted courage They enjoy the esteem of
those they command, and spare no palms to make
them efficient soldiers. We know that these Har
rison Glands will do their pert nobly wherever
Iltey go.
Thoneemde of visitors swarmed about the camp
grounds yesterday. In the evening the tents were
illuminated, and the effect produced was siaydarly
picturesque and pleasing. The men were ordered
to be in readiness to march at eight o'clock this
morning. If the orders are not countermanded the

The MOLTED; U,ison, of the 12th, nye ;
A convention of delegates representing nearly
all the railroads in the Confederate States, Min
ding Tennessee, was held at Chattanooga, on Taal
day, the 4th inst., at which &resolution was unani
monsly adopted to metre the treasury meta au
thorised to be issued by the Secretary of the
Treasury of the Confederate States at par for
freights and fare. The Nashville and Chattanooga
railroad was represented in the convention by Col.
Whiteside, and at a meeting of the directors on the
7th, a resolution was unanimously adopted to re
oeive the treasury notes at par for freights and
fare. The banks in Charleston and Savannah, and
other points in tiouth Carolina and Georgia, had
already resolved to take these Dottie on dapping and
pay them out as currency, while the Bank Con
gress,_ at Atlanta, recommended all the banks in
the Confederate States to receive and pay out the
notes in like manner, and we doubt riot they will
acquiesce in the reoommendation. This Ration
will as once place the Confederate States upon an
equality with the circulating medium of the South
ern States---a safe and reliable currency."
The accumulation of the shinplasters thus de
nominated " a safe and reliable currency" in the
hands of the Soutiern railroad companies, repre-
Sented by this ooriseotion of traitors, will bean
itself a partial punishment of the crime.
