In order to supply the necessities of the Penni
sylvania troops at Washington, the demander o
some of those in camp in Pennsylvania had to be
postponed until other uniform could be manures

to Washington city the clothing for the regiments
of McDowell and Hamm - aft. It ie but proper to

for whose tin the same was spatially ordered.
I shall spare no exertions, however, to have
all the troops now mustered into the service of

without delay. The deliveries of clothing for the
nine regiments ordered to be furnished by Rot of
Assembly Is now being made as rapidly as possi
ble. The Clothing has all been manufactured by

not a single article is allowed to be delivered with

The following little incident ocourred during a
debate between Mr. Roman, a Union man, and
Mr. Johnston, a Seceseionist, in the Kentucky
Senate, one day last week. :

was too good a juke for a good natured gentleman
like yourself to keep all to yourself, and so you
disclosed it Uncle Abe replied to you that your
letter had been received, duly considered, and in
reply, he had to say to you (one of the Senators of
Kentuoky) that if he hod known that Cairo, 11l ,
was in your Benahnial district, he would not have
sent any soldiers within a hundred miles of that
point.
