Board of Health intend closing the Small-pox
Hospital on the first of April next, thus obliging
this Board to snake other arrangements for the
treatment of said oases: therefore,
Resolved, That Councils be requested to amend
"the appropriation bill of this Department, as re
ported by the Finance Committee, to read :
"111,000 for the purpose of procuring suitable so
commodations for small-pox patients."
The preamble and relegation were agreed to.
Mr. emrver reared a - resolution calling the at
tendon of Councils to the urgent necessity of pass
ing the appropriation of this Department at as
early a dap as convenient, in order to enable the
Board to furnish food to the inmates. Agreed to.

torney Mann, to bring the ballot-boxes in his

boxes should be opened. Several boxes were then
opened, but not being the proper onee, were again
sealed.; Finally, a box was opened containing the
inspeatir's certifioate of the return of votes for
member': of Congress for Sixth precinct of the
