These bonds are secured by the first mortgages on the
road, amounting in the aggregate to $5,M5.4110. The
net revenue for the Met fiscal year wee six times the
amount of the annual interest on these bonds.
The managers propose to extend them fora period of
twenty rears. the holders retaining the bonds red the
seounty of the mortgages in the precise oondition in
which they are now held. Fresh sheets of coupons for
the interest L payeble half-yearly, will be named.
A bonus of 10 per cent, will be given to the holders, in
consideration of their assenting to the extension. This
bonne will be paid in cash to the bearprs of the bonds,
on their moaning a receipt and presenting their respec
tive bonds at the Ohm of the Company, or to its agents,
for endorsement.

Peveral attempts have been made by interested par
ties to institute a comparison between Webster's Din
t ovary and Worcester's Royal Quarto, all of which
have signally failed. Webster's Dictionary was a good
work for its day and generation; and the much talked
of new edition imprinted on the old plates, with some
&Masons. Woroseter's ,Diotionary is a new toork—a
correctreeorel of the use and meaning of the English
Language at the present time. It is vastly superior to
Webster's Diemen' in every particidar ; and it is so
admitted by the literary men both of England and Ame
rica.
The work has been introduced into the Public Schools
of Boston, Providence, New York, Bt. Louis, Chicago,
nod other principal places, by votes of the several
Boards of Education.
