of boed cropland they generally bid fair VVhmit

turned that despite the protracted drought the
result of the ceuaon will compare favorably with
other yosw.
Wisconsin.—The wheat prodac6 of Wis
consin, lost season, in round numbers, wee about
15,000,000 bushels.. This season It promises to bn
much- larger, as there ia far more laud sown, with
a prospect Qt an extraordinary yield to iho acre.
A gentleman engaged in the rnilUog business at
Foud du Lie informs as that he has a held of 45
acres which wilt, from present appearances, ave
rage 40 bushels to the acre; and this, he ears, after
personal observation and ipquiry, is a fair exem

Mahylaxd.—ln -Maryland, although in
Frederick county and pome other looalitietthe
wheut heads have been light, poorly filled, and the
grains shriveled, the roports which reach us from
other portions of tho State aro of such u nature as
tojonko qi expect an average crop. • ■
- Virginia.— J. K. Gardner, of Montgomery
county, Vfl., writes The Country Gentleman thrit
the vine of the variety grown in Palestine has stood
the winter in the open air at Lynchburg, whore
tV.e fruit ripened last year, and no says grew in
bunches three Vent long and one foot wide. We
have seen such banchesgrown in a hothouse.
Kentucky. —The tobacco crop of Kentucky
is spoken of as less than an averuge one. for various
reasons. There was lees of an area planted, es
pecially near the river, as the almost total failure
of the wheat crop, and high price of corn in spring,
Induced the farmers to .plant more corn and less
tobacco* The c'oacoo, too, has been of such a na
ture as to ripen tho plants a fortnight or three
weeks earlier than usual, which is unfavorable to
o great yield of cured tobacco, since the stock is
brought to the oan'og-b’uso in warm weather
The hay will not, in all probability, be more than

corn crop promises to bo larger than for several years
f ast, if we have a few more seasonable rains. The

product of Tennessee.
Mississippi.—'The Yazoo Banner* ays: We
have lived in .Mississippi nine years, atm wo have

it wjll be n failaro also. Our oUineno will hare to

they will find no Josophs there.
Nebraska. —A Nebraska paper says: From
what wocan learn from every quarter of Nebraska,
we are warranted in saying the crops wore never
more promising. Tho farmers in this seotion are
outting their wheat, some bavo finjehed-r-and feel
satisfied that They will got more than an average
