AMERICAN WATCH COMPANY,
AT WALTHAM, MASS.
Attention U invited to the following statement an
accompanying letters of reeomraendatton# and testimo
nials in favor of these celebrated Watobes.
A told medal was awarded the Company by the
American Institute, at New York, in 1857.
‘The Company also received, the first premium-* gold
m*»dat~from the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia, in
1868.
These Watolies have sow been in the market for
nearly ten years, daring which time they have been
tested as to aconraoy durability, and reliability in every
oonoeivable manner, and have proved themselves to be
the most satisfactory time pleoes ever offered to the
pub Ho.
This remit has been brought about by a strict applica
tion of meohanical soience to the oonstruotion of the
W»toh from its very inception, rendering it when
finished, mathematically correct in all its proportions,
and necessarily as perfect a time-keeper as it is possi
ble to make.
The Company have tested their ‘Watches in many in
stances by actual daily noting, and the result *f this
test hae been that they have eshib ted a rate equal in
regularity to the b.-st marine ohronoroetor.
.N. B.—We have just introduced a new style of Watoh,
elaborately fin shed, and thinner than any we have
hitherto produced, with several improvements calcu
lated to insare the greatest acouraoy of performance,
and to provenr the usual accidents and derangements to
which foroign watchraere liable.
The following is from Mr Porter, the well-known
Marine Chronometer and ’Watchmaker:
Boston, Aptil ?0. 1860,
M r. E. K. Bobbin*. Treasurer, Src.
Dear Bir: Fmoe try note to *ou of September, 1E59, I
have sold a number of your Company's Watches, and
hear good reports from them without exception. They
give me no trouble and my oustomers every satisfaction

Dear Bir: The American Watoh made br your Com

bos kopt excellent time, and sustain* you* 1 suaranty. It
seems to be less disturbed by horseback and railroad oar
jolting than the generality of foreign watches.

Hoar Sir: I tifke great pleasure in being able to oertify
that (or toe last ten months 1 have carried a watoh from
the manufactory of the American Watch Company, and
thatit ha* given pereot satisfaction as & time keeper,
Judgins from the one I have, I do not hesitate to predict
that the day is not far distant when watobes made in the

Pear Bin The three watoheg of your manufactur
whioh I purchased to be used on my plantation, hav
proved to be the mostoorroot tima-keepers I have ever
known. I gave my head servant, ray head oarpenter,
and my head engineer, eaoh one of them 5 and since
they have been in their riapeotiva po'sewr-D, every
thing on the plantation has moved like olock-work. in
consequence of the extreme aoouraoy and regularity
with whioh these watchos perform.
Yours truly, Lawia Morris.
