wealth, while giving his testimony proceeded to expa

clared himself to be an unfortunate victim. It was with
great difficulty that be wet prevented from oommenting
at great length, and he was only checked by the district
attorney remarking, "All you have to do Is to furnish

amiss' for Bachman argued that the defendant was
only an agent, and 'could not be responsible for the
