Monday evening, at Concert Hall. His subject is

attracted large audiences wherever it hes been de

the rare and impassioned eloquence with which he
clothes hie reminiscences combine in forming an Intel
treat rarely enjoyed by the lecture-going people
of Philadelphia. The demand for tickets is said to be
wonderful.

" We have examined with much attention this latest
work of Judo Billiard, and must regard it as the most
valuable of all the books he has given to the prolamine',
since it supplies not merely a standard American work
upon an important branch of the law, but a work whore
none existed before. upon it subject which, by its max
nitude and its inaccessibility through ordinary channels
of ends or investivation. Imperatively demanded whet
plias received—a distinct, full, comprehensive. and phi

Upon too whole, we believe that the preparation of

that it will prove to be of great practical use in the

1 vol. 12ruo, uniform, price 61.
The Publishers have the pleasure of presenting to the
American public a new ands plendid volume of sermons
by Mr. Spurgeon. This is a fitting occasion to say, that
those sermons are published in this book precisely as
they came to us from the hand of the author himself,
with tho revisions marked by his own non, and without
a passage or word being entitled er added. The din
neurons are marked by that glowing terror, intense
earnestness. strong conception, vigerons expresso.,
and deep evangelical Gus p•I truth, that have made this
Preacher, 111 the dew of his youth, tie most popular
preacher in the world.
We trust confidently that this volume will not be found
one whit behind any that has preceded it. and that it
will rather exhibit the advancing stature of the preacher
in his intellectual grasp, his varied learning, and deeper
insight into human nature, as well as his increased spi
rituality and self-devotion.
