The Miami and Erie Canal' con-iota of two hundred
and sixty.elght miles of mile line. It comprises the
Wabash and Erie Canal, eighty-eight miles lorg,ex•
tending westa , srd from Manhattan, on Luke Erie, to
the State line between Indiana and Ohio, (where it cone
neat.. with the Wahaeh and Erie Canal of Indiana;)
and the Miami and Miami Extension Canals extending
from Junotion, on the Wabash and Erie Canal , torenty
miles west of Manhattan, to the Ohio river at Olnain
natl.
The slack-water navigation on the Muskingum river,
known as the Muskingum Improvement, le ninety-ono
miles In length, nrid extends from Marietta 'add Har
mer, on the, Ohio river, to Dresden, where it connects
with a side cut of the Ohl Canal, two miles long.
The Ohio' Canal leads from Olevoland, on Lake Bele.
to Portsmouth, on the Ohio river, and is three hundred
and nine miles long; at limos, one hundred and
thirty-five miles from Cleveland, it nausea' with tee
Walhonding Canal; et Webbsport, one hundred and
forty nine miles from Cleveland, the Dresden side out
connects it witlithe Meeting= Improvement, end at
Carroll, two hundred and four miles from Cleveland, it
coeneets with the Booking Canal.
The Hocklog Cana, flay-six miles long, is connected
with the'Ohlo Canal, at Carroll, and tertninahre at
Athens.

The Western Reserve and Maumee Bold is a macad
amized and gravelled turnpike, leading from Bellevue, In
Miran county, to the Maumee-river bridge, at Perrot
burg, in Wood county, a distance of forty-seven and a
half miles.

who, in consideiation of the tolls to be derived from
said section, shall bid to pay the highest annual rent_
therefor, and shell comply. in all resents, with the
aforesaid set and with the rage adopted, or which may
be adored, by the Board far the lotting.
