OHIO WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS.
ANNOUNOEMENT OF THE PROPRIETOR FOIL
THE HEM3ON OF WM
THE OHIO WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS are situa
ted in Delaware county, 18 =llea north from Columbus,
(the capital of Ohio,) on the Scioto river, 10 miles from
Delaware, 20 miles from the White Sulphur elation, on
the Fprlnglield, Mt. Vernon, and Pittsburg Railroad,
and 10 miles from Pleasant Valley or Springs; station,
on the Culumbas, Pigott, and Indiana Railroad These
Springs will be open for the reception of visitere
ON TUE FIRST DAY OT JUNE.
The improvements of Me have been lam, enabling
the proprietor to arnommodate from fire to clx hundred
guests. Among theme Improvements may be mentioned
&large and elegant hotel, new cottage rows, additiospal
buildings for amusements and recreation, eatenilive
bath-hones, a steam laundry, Ac., Ac.
Upon the estate there are five Spleen, all within the
lawn, four of which, the White Sulpher, the Maly
testa, the hfagnesian, and the Saline Obalybeate, are
decidedly medicinal, whilst the fifth is remarkable for
the purity of its water.
THE WHITE SULPHUR
is a beautiful Artesian fountain, situated near the
rocky bank of the Scioto river. At the depth of leo
feet below the level of the Belot% dotes the remarkable
stream of sulphur which supplies this Spring. This
etymon was dimmed some 80 years ago, by a gentle.
man who was boring for ealt. The water, when reached,
at once arose to the surface, and has ever since con
tinned to Dow, during all seasons, without change or
abatement, either in quality or volume.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES.
• • • - - • • .
For years these flprings have been highly esteemed
for their medicinal properties, During the past season
their reputation in this respect hellbent' aingularlycon•
armed. They were administered by a physician, Judi
ciously as to quantity, time of drinking, continuance,
ere., and under this eystematic plan the cures were
womerceut and gratifying.
TUX ,WIIIPie SULPIWR WATER
is peculiarly marsh:oole In those disorders of the Liver
and Stomach whioh so often atlllot gentlemen who have
been too closely confined to Dtialneall, and prone of
sedentary habits.

As a delightful retort during the summer months, the
Ohio White Sulphur Springs harp no rival in the West,
and but few in the United Staten. The iodation is pe
culiarly healthy ; the Scioto here is a rapid. rooky
stream . ; the c , Oli ff Limestone " a formation hundreds
of feet'in thickness, through which the river cuts its
way, is everywhere, either at or near the earface ; the
aromas of the estate are beautifully undulated, and
interspersed with numerous mitten which carry off all
the euperfluous water, than rendering the soil dry end
the atmosphere free from that humidity no prejudicial
to health ; these circumstances, taken in connection
with the altitude of the place. about 1.000 feet above
the level of the ocean; makes the locality as free from
rat:Amiens Mumma% as a menntein region.
he Spring property consists of 820 sores of land,
one hundred of which is covered by one of the meet
beautiful groves in Ohio. This woodland is handsomely
laid off into walks and drives, one of the latter being
two miles la extent.
Bathing here, by the plan adopted t is brought into
fair competition with that at naturally Warm and Hot
Springs. The water is heated in the bath tub by steam
pipes ; the hest not being d high enough to preolpi.
tete its salts, It is by this system Applied to the surface
of the bather witeout the lose of its saline ingredients.
