Analysed for.volatile and fixed drugs, of which no traces of an# kind wen found. Its color Is proved to be due to a colored resin an extract derived from wood. Ijyin every respect it is a pore ppiritous liquor. The fragrance or bouquet which it possesses can be iso* lated, ana it then appears unlike that from Oognac Brandy or Wine, being a fruity essence resulting from a peculiar fermentation of Catawba and Isabella Grapes.
