colored spirit, bevies a fragrant odor; when eveporated
from clean linen it left uo oil or offensive matter.
Analysed for volatile and fixed drugs, of which no
traces of any kind were found. Its color la proved to
be due to a colored resin an extract derived from wood.

The fragrance or bouquet which it possesses catildiso•
fated, and it then appears mine that from Como
Brandy or Wine, being a' fruity essence resulting from
a peculiar fermentation of Catawba - and Isabelle
