The Pottsville Miners' .Tournal, of Saturday,
says of tho'Coal trade :
The quantity sent by railroad for the week is
12,062.07 tons, which Is an increase of 5,433 tons
over last week.
" The continued mildness of the weather has
caused a great stagnation in the trade, and there is
no work doing but preparing the collieries for the
Spring business. At many of the collieries there
is nothing doing at present. The state of trade is
snob that nothing but work that is absolutely ne
cessary will be done, except in seine instances
where the proprietors are working at a disadvan
tage, order to afford some employment to those
wholave families, to enable them to live during
the winter."
