beet quality of the kinds herein specified, deliverable
at, the 'United States Clothing and Equipage Depot,
Schuylkill Arsenal, and in quantities us may be re
quired, via:
Wax Upper Leather, oalt-tinned, shaved from slaughter
hides,
dell (nu*
Sole Leather, oak-tanned from Buenos Ayres or La
Pieta hides
Stock Leather, dressed by the morocco process, and of
usual thickness.
Black Bridle Loather, oak-tanned from slaughter hides
nugget Bridle Leather, from hides of the game clam,
I curried dowp without splitting.
Morocco Skine,Tamplco, black kid finigh.
Vizor Leather, japanned on both-sides, one black, the
other green, by the patent
' process.
Chin Strap Leather, japanned black on the grain side,

Slaughter Leather, for welts
• Contracts will be based on accepted proposals, for the
fulfilment of which trio or more eunicient securities
will be required.
The names,- cadre., and the responsibility of the
,persons proposed as securities, with the acknowledge
ment of said persons that they will be such security, or
will one that good and sufficient security be furnished in
case a contract is obtained, will be transmitted with the
,proposals. '
Payments will be rondo on each delivery, should Con
gress have made an appropriation to meet them, or an
,goon thereafter as en appropriation shall be made for
:that purpose. , Ten per cent. of the amount of each de
:livery will be retained until the contract shell be com
pleted, which will be forfeited to the United States in
