—TEL NEW JERSEY FERTILI2ER COMPANY
Is now prepared to receive ordere for this important
manure, For all Ina upon which ashes are beneficial,
the Marl Is more than a substitute.
Profeseor Cook, in hie annual report to the Legisla
ture of New Jersey, nye "The value of these Merle la
beet seen in the rich and highly cultivated district
which has been improved, almost made, by their use;
but it may be interesting to examine the canoes of their
great value in Agriculture, and to compare then% with
other fertilizers. For example : The potash alone may
be taken et an average of live per cont. of the whole
weight of Marl bushel when dry weighing eighty
pounde, and in the proportion mentioned would contain
four pounds of potash ; this is nearly no much cc there
to In a bushel of entombed wood ashes." And again—
it le probable that the great value of the Marl Is to be
found in the fact that it contains nearly all the cub
stances neceeeary to make up the ash of our common
cultivated plants.
Price, delivered on board vessel, at the whervee of
the company at Portland Heights, on Raritan Bay, New
Jersey, eleven cents per bushel. Par further particu

been at work, taking out fifteen hundred dollars a day,
with a good prospect of its continuance.
