NORFOLK. Dec 3.
The brig David 8. Brown, Captain Baker, of and from
Philadelphia, lot ult., bound to Rey West, with 500
tons of coal, encountered a violent gale .from the N E
on the 15th, which continued without cessation 'until
the - 17th, when she sprung a leak, which increased
until the Itith, when the vessel bad to be abandoned
within 00 miles of Abaco with six feet of water In the
hold. AB bands took to the boata in quite an exhausted
condition, and, after ,30 - hours , exposure ' landed at
Green Turtle Bay, saving nothing but what they stood
in. Some Of the crew proceeded to Nassau, NP, and
Captain Baker and the remainder "reached here to.dar.
The vessel was valued at . p.14,000, and cargo at 82,000
