He was bred in Charles county, Maryland, and

The faiJ Francis Jamof waj born at or near
Ki«Jwelly, in the caumy of Caermartben, and if
living, it about the age of thirty fofer years, and
about the year 1779, was a foremaft man on board
the Milford, a merchant ship, belonging to the
.por: of Brlftol, and failed lor Jamaica in Septem
ber, 1780, afterwards he'returned to Briftot,
an in November, 1781, was pressed in King
road, Briflol, and sent oh board the king's frigate
called ?h« Diomcde, in which he failed from 'Ply
mouth «n a cruise, and 00 board of which he af
terwards became a quarter gunner,' and defined
the said (hip at Chaileflon Bar in North-America
in September 178 a.

named Francis James, whether living or dead, they
