also a gold or pinchbeck watch, with a steel
chain. He is fund of fpiritous liquors, is inso
lent, has a liupki look, and chews tobacco.—
He was bred in Charles county, Maryland, and
purchased of col. John Thomas by gen. Ridge
ley. Whoever apprehends said negro, and Se
cures him in any jail so that the owner may
gut him again, ihall receive the above reward,
with reasonable charges if brought horn*, or de

The said Fiancis James was born «t or near
Kidwelly, in the county of Caermaftbeq, and if
living, is about the age of thirty-four years, and
about the year J779, man on board
the Milford, a merchant ship, belonging to the
pore of Briflol, and failed for Jamaica in Septem
nrr. i ~he returned to Hriftof,
an. in November, 1781, was prefied 10 King
road, Briflol, and sent or beard the king's frig. -,e
called ths Diomede, in which he failed from Ply
mouth in a cruifc, and on board of which he af
terwards became a quarter gunner, and deserted
the said fliip at Chatlefton Bar in North-America
in September 1781.
