Marine Corps, of the following description.—
He is about five feet fix inches high, brown hair
and fair compl xion. ?le is an adive fellow and
brags much of his abilities as a Drill Serjeant.
He has been lately fcen in Lancaftcr, and is pro
bably with his friends, who liv« about 4 miles
from that place.
The above reward will be given and all expen
ces paid, on delivering him to any officer in the
service of the United States, or lodging him in
Jail.

He was bred in Charles county, Maryland, and
purchased of col. John Thomas by gen. Uidge
ley. Whoever apprehends said negro, and (e

thumberland, state of Virginia; containing
about 14x30 aeres—its situation is equal to any other
in the Northern Neck, temarkable for every kind
of wild fowl, oyflers, fifli and crab, and none bet
ter for health. It s is about the fame distance from
Baltimore, Alexandria and Norfolk, and not more
than one days fail from either. There are three
improved plantations with dwelling houses, the
one known by the name of Exeter Lodge, former
ly the residence of col. Jobn Gordon, is an elegant
two story brick house, with four rooms on a floor,
and a passage sixteen feet wide.
The other two are commodious and convenient
ly fitted, with good and suitable out houses, at one
of which John Murphy, Esq. (now of VVeftmore
land county) lived several years;on this farm there
is a good grill mill, with water fuificient to turn
any number of (tones ; alfe conveni«nt Aore hou
ses and granarits on a public road, well fituaced
for a country Aore. On eaeh of those places there
are fine apple aad peach orchards. The greater
proportion of tjK land is of the firA quality, and
near the half ofthe whole heavily timbered. The

it is among other things referred to Wm. Gravej'
Esq. one of the mailers of the said court," to take
an account of the Legacies bequeathed by the will
of the teflator, WILLIAM PHILLIFS, late of
Newgate flreet, London, deceased, and a!fo to in
quire and state to the court, whether Francis
James, the brother of the complainant's named a*
one of the Legatees in the said will is dead, and
whether he died in the life time of the teflator
Therefore all persons who can give any informa
tion whether the said Francis James be living or
dead, and if living where he now resides or lafl
resided, and when and at what place, and when
and where he was last heard of, and if dead, when
and where he died, are hereby requefled to give

at his office in Southampton Buildings, Chancery
Lane, London,on or before the firfl tlay of March
next, otherwiif he wiil be excluded the benefit of
the said decree.
Th« said Francis James was born at Or near
Kidwelly, in the county of Caertnarthen, and if
living, is about the age of thirty-four years, and
about the year 1779, was a foremaft man on board
the Milford, a merchant ship, belonging to th»
port of Briflol, and failed for Jamaica in' Septe
mber, 1780, afterwards he returned to Briflol,
and in November, 1781, was prefTed in King
road, Briflol, aodfent ob board the king's frigate
called th« Diomede, in which he failed from Ply
mouth ®n a cruise, and on board of which he af
terwards became a quarter gußßer, and defcrtei
the said (hip at Charleston Bar in North-America
in September 1781.
Should any person in the United States of Ame
rica, be enabled to give information of the above
natped Francis James, whether living or dead, they
are requested to communicate the fame, to DAVID

lity and of any size, from 7 by 9, to 18 by 34
inches, catefully packed in boxes containing

Glass of larger sizes for other purposes, may
also be had, such is for pidlures, coach glafltj,
clock faces, Sue. Bottles of all kind« and of any
quantity may also be had, together with pocket
flalks,picklingjars, apothecary's fliop furniture,
or other hallow ware—the whole at least 25 per
Cent, lower than articles of the fame quality
brought from any of the sea ports of the United
