Fourth- Proposals to supply all rations that

Fifth. Proposals to supply all rations that
may be required at the Fort at Wilmington,
Cape Feir; at Bearon island, Ocracock ; at
Charlotte ; at Fayetteville 1 at Salisbury, or
at any other place or places where troops are or
may be stationed, marched or recruited in the
state of North-Carolina.
Sixth. Proposals to supply all rations that
may b# required at Norfolk, at Portsmouth, at
Kempfville, at Charlotteville, at Wincheftcr,
\at Staunton, at Richmond, at Alexandria, at
Letfburg, at Fredericklburg, at Carterfville, at
Harper's ftriy, or at any other place or places
where troops are or may be stationed, marched
or recruited, in the state of Virginia.
Seventh. Proposals to supply ail rations that
may be required at Fort M'Henry, at Balti
more, at Annapolis, at Frederick town, at
Leonard town, at Hagerstown, at Bladetilburg,
at George-town, at Eaftown, at the Head ot
Elk. and at any other place or places, where
troops are or m?y be stationed, marched or re
cruited within the limits of the state of Mary
land.
Eighth. Proposals to supply all rations that
may be required at Fort Mifflin, at Philadel
phia, at Darby, at Laocader, at Wilkefbarre,
at Heading, at Hriftnl, at York town, at Carlisle,
at Lewidown ( Mifflin county) at Bedford, at
G eenfburg at Walhington, at Eadown, at
Wilmington, at Christiana, at Dover, or at
any other place or places where troops are or
may be fiationed, marched or recruited within
the limits of the dates of Pennsylvania and De
laware, except the pofls within the date of Penn
fylvania, enumerated in the fird propefals a
forefaid.

Woodbury, at Trenton, and at any other place

may be required at New-York, at Wed Point,
at Flushing, at Haerlem, at Wed Cheder, at
Poughkeplie, at Konderhoak, at Still water, at
Newberg, at Albany, at Conajoharie, at Cher
ry Valley, and at any other place or places
where troops are or may be dationed, marched
or recruited within the limits of the date of
New York, exceot the polls within the slate
enumerated in the firft proposals aforefaid.
Eleventh. Proposals to supply all rations
that may be required at Hartford, at Hebron,
at New-London, at Brooklyn, at Wyndhim,
at Litchfield, at Guilford, at New-Haven, at
Fairfield, at Danbury, at Middletown, and at

Twelfth- Proposals to supply all rations that
may he'required at Fort Wolcftt, at Brirrfon'j
Point, at Newport, at Providence, and at any
pace or places where troops are or maybe dat
eioned, marched or recruited within the limits
of the date of Rhode-Island.
Thirteenth. Proposals to supply all rations
that may be required at Portland in the Dif
triijl of Maine, Glouceder, Cape Ann, Salem,
Marblehead, Boston, atUxbridge.'and at any
other place or places where troops are or may be
dationed, marched or recruited within the li
mits of the state of Maljachufettf.
Fourttentl. Proposals ta supply all rations that
may be required at Portfmeuth, at Exeter, at
Winder, at Benningson, at Rutland, or at any
fort, place or places, where troops are or may be
stationed, marched or recruited within the States
of New Hamplhirc and Vermont.
The rations to be supplied, is to consist of the
ollowing articles viz. eighteeu ounces of broad or
flour, when neither can be obtained, of one
uuart of rice, or one and a half pound of Cfted or
boulted Indian meal, one pound and a quarter of
freft beef, or one pound oi salted beef, ur when
quarters of a pound of salted pork, and jhrae frelh
meat i»'iflued, falt> at the rate of two quarts for
every hundred rations; soap at the rate of four
pounds, and candles at the rate of a pou.id and a
half for every hundred rations.
It is ejtpe<2ed the proposals will also extend to
the supply of rum, whifty, or other ardent spi
rits at the rata of half a gill per ration, and vine
tMr at the rate of two quarts for evsry hundred
ration?, The proposals will fperiiy the price of
the several component parts of the ration, as wall
as thek of fut futures or alternatives for parts
thereof.
The rations are to be furni&ed in such quanti- I
ties as that there (hall at all times, during the term
of the prOposed contrails be fufficient for the con
junction cf the troops at Michilimackinac, De
troit, Niagara and Ofwego, for fix months in ad
vance, and at each of the other pods on the wes
tern waters, fir at lead three months in advance,
of good andwliolefome provisions, if the fime ihall
be required It is all# to bo permitted to all and
every of the commandants ef fortified places, or
or polls, to call for at seasons when the fame can
be transported, or at any time in the cafe of urgei.t
cy, such fupphes of like provisions in advance, as
in the discretion of the commandant shall be deem
ed proper. It is to be under 'ood that the con
tractor is to be at the expence and rilk of issuing the
fuppliesto the troops, and at all lofTes, fuftaillsd, by
the depredations of an enemy, or by the means of
he troops of the United States, shall be paid for at
the prise of the article captured or deflroyed, on the
depositions of two or more persons of creditable
charaSers and the certificate of a commiffioncd
officer, ascertaining the circumdanccs of the loss,
and the amount of the articles, f»r which conipen
fation (hall be claimed.
The privilege is to be underilood to be reserved
tothe United Statesof rcquiriEg, that none of the
fupplics which may be furnifhed'under any of the
proposed contrails shall be iffue'd, until the sup
plies which have or may be furni&ed under can
trails now in force have been consumed. and that
»a supply ia advance n-.ay be always required at any
of the fixed posts on the isea-b ard or Indian fron
tiers, not exceeding three months.

He has been lately seen in Lancalier, and is pro
bably with hit Iriends, who live about 4 miles
from that place.

loons, and a light corduroy pair of bieeches ;
also a gold or pinchbeck watch, with a steel
chain. He is fond of fpiritous liquors, is inso
lent, has a stupid look, and chews tobacco. —
He was bred in Charles county, Maryland, and
purchafcd of col. John Thomas by gen. Ridge
ley. Whoever apprehends said negro, and se
cures him in any jail so that the owner may
g«t him again, shall receive the above reward,

dead, and if living where he now refidcs or last

and where he waslaft heard of, and if dead, when
and where he died, are hereby requeflcd to give

at his office in Southampton Buildings, Chancery
Lane, London,on or before the firft day of March
next, otherwifo he wtil be excluded the benefit of
the said decree. •.
The said Francis James was born at or near
ICidwelly, in the county of Caermartben, and if
living, is about the age of thirty-four years, and
abouc the year 1779, was a foremaft man on board
the Milford, a merchant ship, belonging to th«
pore of Bristol, and failed for Jamaica in Septem
ber, 1780, afterwards he returned to Bristol,
and in November, 1781, was pressed in KjEg
road, Bristol, and sent on board the king's frigate
called she Diomede, in which he failed from Ply
mouth en a cruise, aud on board of which he af
terwards became a quarter gunner, and defer ted
the said (hip at Charleston Bar in North-America
in September 178 a.
