Lachawannock.
A LARGE body of LAND on this river
and its waters, is now for sale to Settlers on
on moderate term*,and at a long credit.
Ihe foil is remarkably fertile, and nu
merous firearm of water are interspersed
through the whole country.
The main river flaws through one tract
of about thirty thousand acres, and is with
he exception of one obflrudlion, naviga
ble to the Sufquehannah.
Spring Brook Creek, which with its
branche:, waters another tract of about
forty thousand acres of good Land, emp
ties itfelf into the Lachawannock, about
twelve miles from the Sufquchannah.
It affords numerous Mill feats, & In its
course creates largebodies of well water
ed meadow ground.
The other tra&s arcinterfe&ed by creeks
of considerable importance.
Several Mills are already eredled for the
accommodation of, the settlers.
Roads are cut in different diregions, to
wards the most convenient markets.
The county town is not more than i 2
mles distant from many parts ot the set
tlement.
The Sufqu#hannah affords an easy and
a.e navigation to Middleton, from whence
the Canal to Schuylkill extends the com
munication to the city.
Another means of connection with Phi
ladelphia, is by the Delaware, from which

the City of Washington— Two beautiful de
signs are already feic fted for the entire fronts
on two of the public squares ; f ro m these
drawings, it is proposed to erett two centre
and tour corner buildings, as soon as po'ffible
alter this Lottery is fold, and to convey them
when complete, to Ihe fortunate adventurers*
in the manner described in the scheme for
the Hotel Lottery. A nett <sodu£tion of five
per cent, will be made to defray rhe neces
sary expcnces of printing, &C. and the sur
plus will be made a part of the fund intended
for the National Uniyerfity, to be ereftcd
within the City of Washington.
(£3" The drawing will commence as soon
as the Tickets are fold, or at aM events oh
Monday, the 22n<i of December next: The
money prizes will be payable in thirty days
after it is finifhed, and any prizes for which
fortunate numbers are not produced within
twelve months after the drawing isclofed arc

for the Univcrfify, it being determined to
fettle the whole bufmefs in a year from the
ending of the drawing and to take up the
bonds given as security.
The real f(curities given for the payment
of the Prizes, are held by the President and
