Six Dollars Pout 23 miles below Alexandria, and 28 below the City of Walhington, compre hending Freestone Point, which appears to be a quarry of free-ftone, covering about 50 acres and adjoins the river, where vef lels of ioo tons conveniently harbour. On another part of this tract it isfuppofed there is a quarry of slate, convenient to water carriage. Upwards of two thirds are in woods. Mr, fenoch S. Lane, living on the premises, will (hew this trafl. Another tract,' in Fairfax county, called Springfield, containing 2040 1-2 acres, a bout 13 miles from Alexandriaand lofront Wafhingtoji; abounds with fine springs and meadow ground, and may be seen by apply ing to Mr. John Wood, living on part of it Another tract in Fairfax county, con taining 392 acres, on Turkey-cock Run, a bout draMes from Alexandria. Another parcel of land, within a mile of Alexandria, containing about 24 acres, and to be fold in acre or half-acre lots- Also, sundry unimproved lots of variou sizes, in different parts of the town of Al exandria. Todefcribe the preruifes more particu larly is deemed unnecessary, as it is expec ted every person will examine and view whatever part he lhall be inclined to buy. My only object being to raise a certain sum of money, by felling so many or such parts of the aforefaid tracts of land and lots as shall be necefTary for that purpose, one half of the purchase money must be paid at the time of contrast, and the other within a year from the firft day of Atigufl: next, and at the time of delivering pofleffion or exe cuting, a legal conveyance. The lands re maining unfold, exeept the tract in Prince William, after raising a limited sum, will be divided into tenements, and leafed for a term of years. From the 12th day of Oc tober! next, til) the ijth of Decembr, I shall be in the city of Richmond, and afte. that time I (hall remain at home, in Alex andria, at which places, or elsewhere, I (hall be prepared to detail particulars, and to enter into comra Sim The engraving ij badly executed, the strokes of" all the Letters are stronger and the device in themargin particularly ismuch coarser and appears darker than in the true Bills. Some ol the counterfeits bear date in 1791— Whereas the Banlf was not in opera tion till December; and no five dollar billl were iflued in jbat year. Twenty Dollar Bill's of the Bank of North America. ALL that have appeared have the letter B. for their alphabetical mark. They are printed on a paper nearly (imi lar to that of the miulterfeit Five Dollar Notes above defcribeiij the engraving is better executed, and they approach nearer to the appearance of the genuine bills. The fine ruled lines through the word Truetity, in tie body of the bill, are in num ber thirteen in the genuine bills, and but twelve in the counterfeits. The word Company is much like the fahie word i.n the Five Dollar Bills as described above, the 0 being less than them, and o« thers following. There is no flroke to the t in the word North whereat in the genuine bills theftroke is well defined. The letters ent in the word Twenty, to the left hand at the bottom, do not coma down to the line f hut are so cut »s to giv« an irregular appearance to the word, the 7aiand they going below them. The fignstlire J, Nixon, hssthe appear ance of bring written with l«mb-black and oil, and differs from other inks used in printing th bills and the cafhiei's signa ture. It is supposed tbefe forgeries were commit, ted in fomeof the Southern States, is >41 the counterfeits that hjve appeared, have come from thence, and two petions have been ap prehended in Virginia, on suspicion of being the author of them. The reward of ONE THOUSAND DOl- LARS will be pa'd to any Person or Persons who shall cfifcover and prosecute to convic tion the several offenders of the following defrriptions or any of them, viz. The pet Con or pcrfoni, who nwnufß&ur* ed the paper on w,hich the Bills are printed. The person or persons, who engravcd' 4 th« plates. The printer or printers, of the bills. Every person who has acted as a principal in any other way, in the counterfeiting and uttering the said bills. Philadelphia, Mar«h 28,1794 ■April 22, 1794, Other counterfeit bills of the Bank of the United States have ap peared in circulation. The denomination is of TWENTY DOLLARS, and the alphabetical mark is the letter B. They may be diftinguiftied from the ge* nuine by the following MARKS : The paper of the counterfeits is of a more tender texture and gloffey furface than the genuine, and there is no. water mark in them. The letter C. in the word Cashier, in he true bills is strongly marked, uheuM in the counterfeits, the whole letter is 4 fine hair itroke, evidently in an unfinifhed state. The letter a in the word demand, is badly formed and the whole word ill done and there is no comma at theend of it, as there is in the genuine bills*. The marginal device, is ranch daiker in the fa lfe, than in the genuine bills ow ing to the /hade strokes being coarfeT, much nearer together, and consequently much more numerous. This difference strikes tha eye atfirft view. The fame reward of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, will be paid for apprehending is prosecuting to conviction the several above described Offenders in refpeft to this t as to the last defcrihed bills. THOMAS WTLLING, Picfidcnt of the Br.nk United States. JOHN NIXON, President of the Bunk of North America. By order of the Committees of the Res* peftive Boards.
