the Canal to Schuylkill extends the com
munication to the city.
Another means of connection with Phi- J
Jad( Iphia, is by the Delaware, from which
the distance infeveral places is about thirty
miles.
The proprietors combining: their own in
terclt with that of the inhabitants, are dis
posed to ere(sl works of public utility,open
uoads, fe.c. and in every en miles fqnare, a
tract of one hundred acres is allotted for a
School, and one hundred acres for thefirft
resident clergyman of any denomination oi
