A LARGE body of LAND on this river

The m».in river flows through one tract
of about thirty thousand and is with
the exception of one obftruttion, naviga
ble to the Snfquehannah.
Spring Brook Creek, whicli with its
branches, waters another tract of about
forty thou land acres of good Land, emp
ties itfelf nto the Lachawannock, about
twelve miles from the Sufquchannah.
It affords numeious Mill feats, and its
course creates large bodies of weH water
ed meadow ground.
The other tracts are'interfefted by creeks
of considerable importance.
Several Mills are already ereeled for the
accommodation of the fetti«Fs,
Roads are cut in diffetcnt diregions, to
wards the most con\'enient market".

miles distant from many parts ol the set

The aff»rds an easy and
fa e navigation to Middleton, from whence
the Canal to Schuylkill extends the com
munication to the city.
Another means of Phi
lad lphia, is by the D'-laware, from which
the distance in feveraj piaces is about thirty
miles.
The proprietors combining their own in
terest with that of the inhabitants, ,are di(-
posed to erect works of public utility,open
toads, &:c. and in every en miles square, a
tract of one hundred acres is allotted for a
.School, and one hundred acres for the firft
resident clergym2ti as any denomination of
Christians.

Some lew Counterfeit Post Notes of the
Bank of Maryland, having been lately disco*-
vered in circulation, arid ontracir»g ihe fame
weie found to come ftom the baek parts of
Virgm'a, where they probably fitlt tffiied ; to
avoid imposition it is though t neceiiary to
give following defcviptiom of them, by
which they may readily be dete&ed.
They have the letter D, for their alphabeti
cal mark, at the left hand fide of the Note.
The paper on which they are printed is
more toft and. lender, the fti ekes oi the letters,
in the engraving are in general ilronger, and
have a darker appearance than in the bills.
The fignaiure William P&tteZlon, is badly
done, the strokes of the leiteis, are Itift and
labored, and appear to be painted over wi s h
the pen, as well as the flourtlhingof the name.
The value is left blank in the engraving, to
be filled up in writing, so the sum may be
more or Ids at glcaiurc. b
