large sleigh was drawn by two horses

End of the Indian War.
Cheyenne, Wy. T., Jan. ".Col, Mason,
post commander at Tort Rolnuson, Red
Cloud agency, telegraph Gen Crook to-day
that he believed that he cculd get Spotted
Tail to go cut and bring in Crazy Horse, if
he General would permit (lid acceptance
of the hostile chiefs offer to surrender od
his giving up his arms and ponies. Gen.
Crook telegraphed in reply that Col Mason
could aecept the surrender on the terms
named. I learned to-day that Crazy IIors
is a son of Spotted Tail's brother. If o'd
Spot undertakes tho mission ho will
probably succeed, and thus substantially
end the Indian war. That he will endeavor
to do so seems likely, as he dislikes tho
prospect of a trip I o the Indian territory,
and wishes to strengthen his influence
with the whites so that his request to stay
where he is may bo respected, General
Crook goes to Red Clond in a few days.
