ment a company from said County, who are

ervation.- The weather is becoming cold and

blankets, will . requ i re, something to keep . their
bands Warm; while on "picket" on these cold
and frosty nights. The . Ladies of Schuylkill
have never, heretofore, be,en found wanting
when called upon to : perform a patriotic ac
tion, and I feel confident that they' will- re
spond also; to this call. • .
The call is- that the Ladies go to' Work,
without delay, and 'prepare a lot of zood,
warm, "mittens," for our seldiers, (and urge
their gentlemen friends to aid them in procur ,
ing the material,) who are here, so nobly
braving the danger of.battle, far away from
their-homes . and families, and exposed to the
