TILE - POPITLIR LOLL` The new 7 , -30 Goyernment loan is ,lieing taken at the rate ict a million a day: The advantages it offers as asafe,-luerative invest, • ment; are so generally apprectated, that its success so far surpassea that of any loan yet offered for the acceptance of the people. To persons of small means who will invest :their savings in thistloarr, the Treasury of the Uni ted Stites beemnes a saving bardt• - • A bank too, that is stronger, mere solvent and more liberal in its . payment for the use of money, than any, other. ' While the general rate of in terest is eh per cent., payably annually, this -pays seven and three-tenths, semi-annually. And remember that the more money you put into this loan the more you aid and strengthen the Government, mid the more valuable will be the remaining currency of the country. In no other Way_CEUl a atrin invest a paper so surely, for a gold dollar. At the :expira tion of three.years a holder of, the notes of. the 7-30 loan - has the option of accepting payment in a full or funding- his notes in a six. per cent. gold interestbond, the principal payable in from five to twenty years at the 'option of the Government Theie bonds al ways command a high premium in the mar ket. Now they are 9 per cent. Before the war they were 20,. and will undoubtedly go up to that after•the war. If our workmen in and out of the mines, wodid form associatlieis to invest in this new loan, they would not only benefit themselves, but they would kid the Government in Brush •inethis Rebellion, by enhartg the•value of its currency and reducing ithe cost of ord . dies to it and to themselves. Let the mem bers of a club of twenty or more, pay in - monthly, two or three dollars each, the ag gregate amount to be invested in the loan at stated. intervals.. - In -thise•way hundreds of thousands of dollars that would, be spent less wisely, could be diverted Into the •National Treasury, and . habits of saving acquired :which In the ftitrhe would be a blessing to tnose whose greatest ambition is 'to own a little farm or a houie and lot. Invest your savings, no matter hoW small they may be, in the way we suggest, and the first impOrtant step to wards securing acompetency, is taken, while . you have the satistaction of knowing that you assisted the Government to bring the war to an honorable end. , ' ' We trust thsitthe active, patriotic men of the various districts of Schuylkill County will take this mutter in hand; hold meetings of the, people and bring this matter before them.. Explain the advantages to' be derived:; from investing in the loan, and advise the imme diate formation of Clubs, so that the work of saving and investing may commence at once. •If this country is destined to be saved from destruction, it will only be by each man put-' ling his shoulder to the wheel, and assisting her if not in the held, at home financially.— The work-in the field,la of course of the - first importance, but that of those who remain at home is hardly less important They must furnish the sinews of war in the shape of money and material. This'matter is exceedingly impor tant, for the prospect o carrying not only the District, but the County at the coMing Oeto he..r election, was never more cheering.- Many honest democrats are disgusted with the machinations of their party which seeks to place the powerful, free North at the feet of the rebellious slave-holders of the Soutli:--- They will vote with nrs. They will remember that at the election on the amendment to grant them the .right to vote, that every vote polled against it was given 'by a Copperhead.: Let the Union Convention frame On Monday 'next, a ticket composed of good men, and we :believe that Schuylkill County will be.re deemed in October. Tu MpiNG DISTRICTS ' A4D TIM Da.A.yr,-- An effort is being made to, create the impres slim that if the draft is enforced in the mining districts, -and the Miners are required to go into -the service, that the supply of coal will be affected, and the Government suffer. This is not so. The mining districts are not only as able to furnish their quotas as the towns; but the ability of the:Region to produce coal is in advance of the power of the transport ing companies to, take it-to market. Besides many of the miners in this region dc cot now work halt time.. No fear of the production of coal being seriously affected if the draft takes place in the mining districts, It will not make the difference of a pound of coal in the aggregate amount sent and to be sent to market this season. Let the mining districts do their duty as well, as the towns. They are fully as able. - • • To murder a Union man in Berks - Oo linty costs just nothiiig at all.; Some time since a Copperhead workman in the Reading 'Rail road shops at Reading; who had said that "it Lincoln was re-elected; he would sooner fight for Jeff.
