To ventilate these two grand sections it is necessary—
in adhering to the system of ventilation In general use
—to ventilate one id these grand sections of the mine
first, hy passing the air into the principal winning drifts
on one side of thesha ft . then, to allow it to wood en
the Incline of the vein tlrom one pair of winning drifts
to another; until it has ventilated all the drifts on that
side of Irbe7shaft and on that side of the exploring
drifts. It is then passed erlier to the other grand divi.

at Hamburg; the citizens of Hembarg to bear a
share of-the increased expense necessary to effect
it. Had It been'adopted, it would•have increased
the grade.. As it is, the Road—we. sympathize
With our Hamburg. friends-will pose about a
mile from Hamburg, and the grade in favor of the
Trade will be reduced flout two; feet—from 12 to
to 10 feet. This le satisfactory, although we mist
confess that wis should very much like to see
a depot of the Road at hamburg, for. the sake of
the oltisens of that place..,
