Although the balance of indebtedness of the conhty
has apparently been increased since our last. report, it
has actually been decreased seven to ten thOusand dol
Inns in the amount then due byithe county fur redemp
tiontioney, and the road and school 4 tas op unseated
laudaheld by the Treasurer, has heretofore not been re
ported as an indebtedness, 111 new I neluded.
It is with much satisfaction that we renoit t that the
amounts' due by old collectors have been much diminish
ed, and it is hoped that they rill all be eettled during
the present year., •
The appropriationitor the Alms House is steadily in
creasing, having been in 1854, 33 per cent.. in 1855 37%
per cent., in PiStA. 40 per cent, of the whole county taxi
levied. end being a Yearly increase of about $3OOO.
At this time, and during the present year, 352.544 of
the bonds of the cohnly, will be due. To meet the same
we will be constrained to borrow money,and therefore
