the charge for toll shall be for, two miles according to
the class to which the articles carried may belong.
And in all cases where the foregojng rates shalt exceed
RI cents per ton On the ascertained tonnage of the vessel
for any lock passed below Reading, or 4 cents per 'ton,
above Reading, the toll shalt be charged at these men•
tioned rates on all articles.
TOLL ON EMPTY BOATS.
Boats wended in ne. run regularly in the trade on the
pf the Canal will be licensed to pass the whole or
any , cart of the line empty by the payment of ten dollars.
The. icitrisepi will- be issued by eny iollector, and will
continue in force during the year ISIS, provided the boat
so licensed shall pay a sum in tolls equal to ten dollars.

Boats not so licensed will be charged five cents per
mile. unless they carry cargo which has paid five del
la:a in tolls.
Any boat not licensed as atbresaid, and running upon
a single level of the works, shall pay for.each Melt they
may at any tone pass, four tents per ton on the ascer
tained tonnage thereof above Reading, and six and A
quarter cents per inn below 'Reading.
CARS, BOATS, AND LANDINGS.
' The Company will furnish cars, boats, and landings;
and atTord every facility for transporting coal to market
at the most reasonable rates, and they are prepared to
Snake contracts with operators and others engaged In
the coal trade, and with those who will Mind and run
heats on the Canal, on liberal terms. Applications on'
these subjects are to he made to the President of the
Company, and they will receive prompt attention.

Brilliant Gas Light.
NEW AND ELEGANT GAS LAMPS
