NO MEDICINE his ever been introduced to the A
merican Public, whose virtues have been more
cheerfully and universally acksowleged, than the a
bove named
- )
, . WRIGHT'S INDIAN VEGETABLE PILLS.
.
To descant upon their merits, at this late day, would
seem to be wholly unnecessary, , as,very few indeed
who read this article, will be found unacquainted with
the real excellence of the medicine . But if further
proof were wanting to establish the credit of this singu
lar remedy, it might be found in the fact that no medi
car in the country has been so
SHAMELESSLY COUNTERFEITED.
Ignorant and unprincipled men have at various pla
ces, manufactured a spurious pill; and' in order more
completely to deceive the public have made it in out
ward' appearance to resemble the true medicine.—
•These wicked people could never pass off their worth
; esti trash, but for the assistance of certain misguided
storekeepers, who because They can purchaie the spu

rious article at a reduced rate,.lend themselves to this
monstrous system of imposition and crime. 4

of criminals. :z' • .
He said that Mary Xoriis, a middle-aged wo

Much affected by her tone of utter hopelessness,
Friend Hopper said, 'But if I cent(' obtain steady

Her countenance brightened, and the eagerly

The kind-hearted inspector used his influence
to procure her dismissal, and provided a place for
her, as head nurse in a hospital for the poor. She
remained there, more than seventeen years, and
discharged the duties of lier situatton so faithfully
that she gained the respect and confidence of all
who knew her. _ •
Ile likewise told, the story of two lads, one, fif

own revengeful feelings. They_were detected and
sent to prison. 'Then Friend Hopper saw them
arrive at dusk, hand-cuffed and chained together,
their youth and desolate appearance touched his
compassionate feelings. "Be of good heart, .my

future. After a while, he proposed to the Board
of Inspectors to reecommeinl them to the Govern=

his arguments finally prevailed, and he and.arioth 7
