I have great 'pleaseire in hearing testimony, to the

whole of inn: self-acting incline and giegine Planes, on'

In December: We put to work, one of yOurl'atent
%Vire Ropes, inn draining Shaft. The ropy has been at
regular work since that timeotml dries ; not as yet show*
the least symptom Of wear. The weight of the Rope
was 51 lb. and fttliona, and it is working in a situation,
where we had been accustomed,th work .11empen ropes
of about lath. and fathom, which on an average have
not worked more titan I'2 'months. We have had
another or the Ropes at work since the 2il of-March,
1812--it is working exceedingly well, and does not
show the slightest degree of went.
Cow opinion is that 'Wire Ropes.' well rna.le, and
properly used, will be fouled for Colliery purposes, dd
cidedly superior to Hempen Ones.
