In setting forth the virtues of this Duty great
medicine. wo have no desire to deceive those
who are labouring under affliction, nor do we
wish to eulogize it morn than it justly _deserves.
Yet when we look around and tee 'the vast a.
mount of suffering and distress occasioned by
many of the diseases in which this medicine has
proved so - highly successful, we feel that we can
not urge its claims too strongly, or say toe much
in its favour.
Various remedies it is true have been offered,
and puffed into notice for the cure of diseases of
the Lunge, and some have no doubt Seen found
very useful, but of all that have yet been discov
ered, it is admitted by physicians and all who
have witnessed its effects, that Ilene has proved
as successful as this. Such indeed, are the
SCUPRISING VIRTUES

of Posses:num, after all the most esteemed rem
edi.e of physicians have failed to effect any
change, the use of this medicine has been pro.

had been despaired of.
In the first stages of the disesissienned "Ca
li/Thal Consumption," originating from neglect
ed COLD, it has been used with undeviating
hotness, and , hundreds acknowledge they owe
the restoration of their health to this invaluable
medicine alone. In that form of Consumption
so prevalent amongst delicate young females,
commonly termed debility, or

ing, it hue also proved highly successful, and not
only possesses the power of checking the prog
ress of this alarmieg, comslaint, but also otrengh

than any medicine we have ever possessed.
Besides its surprising efficacy in Consump
tion, it is equally efficacious in Liver Complaints,
Asthma, Bronchitis, and all affections of the

Woven's INS.—Good irk is a Very good thing;
and like most good things, it is not very often to
be met with ; but we think we may from actual
experiment; cordially recommend the writing
ink made and hold by Mr. Joseph E. Hoover, Nu.
105 north Third street, as being a capital article.
It flows freely from the pen—is transparent - and
without sedimert, find has an excellent color. It
is by tar the best ink we have u 4 for smile
time, and those who are' particular in this mat
ter, cannot, do better than furnish' themselves.
from Mr. Hoover's establishment. Their notions
about ink must differ materially from our/, it
they are c not pleased and very much pleased with
his manufacture.
Testimony of M. A. Hour, Esq., Teacher of
Penmanship:
" After testing the various kidds of ink fOur.'d
in this market during the how eight yearn, I - am
free to state that a thorough trial of Mr. J. E.
Hoovaa's ink hap induced me to-use it in my
Writing Rooms, 'and the scholars under •my
charge, in preference : to any other, as it does not
corrode the steel pen, flows freely, haa fiee, per
manent, black glossy lustre, is entirely free from
sediment, does not mould or become thiCk ; and,
in my own opinion, only needs to 'be known anti
tested, to be sought eller and generally used.
